   Three weeks ago and after too many beers, 3 buddies and I decided to start our own ’stache growing contest, completely ignorant to the existence of “El Dia.” The rules were simple: grow the best friggin’ ’stache your genes’ll letcha. However, to stay true to the spirit of the ’stache, we added a sneaky little sonofabitch of a caveat: NO OTHER FACIAL HAIR PERMITTED! Period. No beards, goatees, Van Dykes, soul patches, nothing.

   It’s been a little uncomfortable the last 3 weeks, but when I happened upon your site (thanks to thrillist.com - FYI: they got the date wrong for “El Dia”) the relief and utter joy of knowing we were not alone in our little endeavour was almost more than I could bare. If not for the constant reminder of my manliness that is my ’stache, I might have succumb to that emotion.

   I humbly thank the Board and look forward to sharing in the festivities. And coincidentally, the day we decided our little contest would end happens to be the day of all days, El Dia del Mustache!
